================================================
Albert Delbrassine is an Antwerp painter from the 20th century. He lived in Berchem (BE), near Wapenstilstandlaan and Gitschotellei. He is primarily known for his surrealism, with elements of magical realism and symbolism, and a touch of Art Deco. Furthermore, he is characterized by creating movement through the use of lines and planes that, without being geometric, tended towards a serene and paused symbolism. He exhibited, among other places, in 1958 at Studio Rik Wouters in Brussels and in many Antwerp galleries. Due to the techniques employed, his works are sometimes compared to those of the Dutch symbolist artist Charley Toorop.
