Alfons Waterschoot (1931 – 2008) was a respected Belgian painter best known for his refined still lifes, portraits, and landscapes. His work is characterized by the combination of a realistic drawing style and very subtle, atmospheric use of color.
Alfons Waterschoot was born on March 19, 1931 in Oud-Turnhout. His exceptional drawing talent was noticed at a very young age. To further develop this talent, he completed a six-year drawing course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turnhout. [1] Afterwards, he refined his skills in portrait painting by taking private lessons with Jan van Puyenbroeck, a well-known Antwerp painter. He eventually completed his artistic studies at the Higher Institute in Antwerp.
By experimenting with new techniques and pigments, he developed a recognizable, warm style in which life in the Kempen region was captured in a realistic yet poetic way.
The dinnerware can be sent in a separate shipment for a shipping cost to be agreed upon.
