Alta van Zyl
I am constantly aware of the nature around me. The simplicity of pure colors and clean lines in a landscape influences my work. The changing colors of the seasons in the orchards, vineyards, and grain fields; the fresh green of spring leaves; the shades of green and blue of the waves breaking on the rocks along our coastline; and the brightness of the flowers in Namaqualand in the spring—all of this keeps me constantly in touch with nature and continues to amaze and inspire me.
