Beautiful and atmospheric watercolor by the Dutch artist Arie Zonneveld.
Arie Zonneveld (1905–1941) was a Dutch painter, watercolorist, and printmaker, known for his refined floral still lifes, landscapes, and color woodcuts. He was born on December 29, 1905, in Amsterdam and died on April 5, 1941, in The Hague. Zonneveld worked as a drawing teacher but also developed into a skilled artist. His oeuvre consists of watercolors, etchings, woodcuts, and paintings, often characterized by clear lines, natural motifs, and a subdued, almost meditative atmosphere. He made his name primarily with his floral motifs and stylized trees and landscapes.
This framed work is 34 cm high and 70 cm wide. After sale, the work will be shipped carefully packaged. It is also possible to pick it up in Amsterdam.
The original frame has some damage to the edge but is still in good condition, as is the glass. It has a label from the renowned art dealer De Gebroeders Koch (The Hague/Rotterdam) on the back.
