Crop: 20 x 20 cm in the original wooden frame. Caroline Serton (Koog aan de Zaan, 1966) begins her workday in the studio with a fixed ritual: she prepares paper, leafs through plant and gardening books, examines her bulletin board full of clippings and computer printouts, searches her chest of drawers for parts of earlier work, and surfs for images of plants, offering bowls, plant tattoos, natural science articles, and artist materials.
