Claudine Suret-Canale - The wild cat

Claudine Suret-Canale, a figurative painter whose work symbolizes biodiversity, was born in 1949. A graduate of the École Nationale Académie Charpentier in Paris, the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Krakow, Poland, and the École Nationale Supérieure de Scénographie in Krakow, Poland, Claudine Suret-Canale traveled to Guinea at the age of nine. From 1960 to 1965, she discovered African wildlife and flora; it was a revelation, and she began to paint and draw. Upon her return to France, at the age of sixteen, she enrolled at the Académie Charpentier in Paris, a preparatory school for the prestigious art schools. She exhibited from 1979 to 2024 in solo and group exhibitions in the USA, France, Morocco, Poland, and Guinea. She illustrated books, specializing in the fables of Jean de La Fontaine. Her paintings are held in private collections and museums. The painting is on linen canvas with a keyed stretcher frame; it will be well-packaged in bubble wrap and will include documents from personal exhibitions and a certificate of authenticity.
