Beautiful drawing, straight from the family

Clemens Antonius Carolus Alphonsus Maria (Clemens) baron van Lamsweerde (Arnhem, 14 July 1897 – Bloemendaal, 26 December 1972) was a Dutch jurist, painter and draftsman.

Biography
He was a descendant of the Van Lamsweerde family and one of five children of Alphonsus van Lamsweerde, a member of the Senate. He was married to the artist L.J.M.H. Dobbelmann (1895-1999), and they also had five children, including the artist Clementine van Lamsweerde (1924-2015), the mother of the artist Inez van Lamsweerde. He was a Knight of Honor and Devotion of the Sovereign Order of Malta.

He studied at the Jesuit Sint-Willibrordus College in Katwijk and then went to the University of Amsterdam, where he graduated with a Master of Laws degree in 1924. He subsequently served as acting clerk of the Nijmegen District Court (1924), clerk of the Oosterhout District Court (1927), and deputy clerk of the Amsterdam District Court (1934).

He was also a visual artist and a member of the Breda Art Circle. He learned his craft from J. Hens, Gerrit de Morée, Salomon Garf, and Jos Rovers. He drew prints and painted portraits, figures, animals, still lifes, and landscapes. He used oil paint, watercolor, and pastel chalk as his medium.
