'Firebird' dish/plate by Corneille
Diameter: 30 cm Height: 2.8 cm.
Weight: approx. 1030 grams.
Signature: Signed at the top and bottom.
Excl. plate holder
The plate has an imperfection, most likely caused during the baking process, hence the low starting price.
From the 1960s onwards, Corneille's designs were figurative with large areas of color. He was inspired by his travels in South America, the United States, and Central Africa. This great artist did not view painting as work or a hobby, but as a pure calling. The design printed on the earthenware plate is also known as "l'Oiseau Rouge".
