Cornelis Brandenburg (1884 - 1954)
=============================

Nice little etching by Corn. Brandenburg and, as one might expect, another etching from the snow etching series.

Etching / image - 9 x 14 cm.

With mat and frame - 22 x 26 cm.

The etching is described and depicted in his oeuvre overview under number: CB228M.

The etching is signed by the artist in pencil by hand in the lower right corner.

The etching is in good condition, framed with a mat and in a very nice black frame.

Etching, frame, and passe-partout are in good condition.

=======================================================================

Cornelis Brandenburg was born in 1884 in Wormerveer. In 1902, he moved to Amsterdam and studied at the Drawing School for Applied Arts. As a ceramic painter, he worked at "De Distel" in Amsterdam. He was a pupil of the famous etcher P. Dupont. After this, he concentrated entirely on etching and became the most important etcher of the Amsterdam canals, but also created etchings of Utrecht, Dordrecht, The Hague, and other cities. He created more than 100 etchings of Amsterdam, and the Amsterdam Archives holds over 60 of them. He died in Amsterdam in 1954. A book featuring all his etchings has been published.
