A remarkable work by the Dutch artist David Kouwenaar from 1983. This painting was personally selected by my parents at the time and purchased directly from the artist's studio in Bergen. As a little girl, I was present during this process, which makes this work extra special for our family. The painting in question is titled “Beperkt Uitzicht” (Limited View) and is included in the exhibition booklet of a 1991 exhibition in Bergen. My parents made the canvas available for this exhibition at the time. The work is reproduced in the publication, together with a poem by Edzard Dideric specially dedicated to Kouwenaar, which is published alongside the painting. The booklet can be supplied or shown for viewing upon request.
