DEATH NYC – Fuck Money Gold – 2013 – Mixed media on three dollar bills – Framed with museum glass.
A striking and outspoken street art piece by DEATH NYC, in which money, pop culture, and urban art come together.
DEATH NYC is the pseudonym of an American street artist known for her graphic visual language and the combination of existing images and everyday objects with street art and pop art elements.
The provocative text “FUCK MONEY” is central to this work.
By applying this message to American dollar bills, the artist transforms an everyday means of payment into an art object.
The combination of money and a direct, rebellious text gives the work a provocative appeal and invites reflection on money and materialism in contemporary society.
This version consists of three separate dollar bills presented together in a single frame. The various finishes, including sprayed elements and red and gold-colored details, give the bills their own character and collectively create a powerful visual whole.
The frame with museum glass ensures a polished presentation and makes the work suitable for immediate hanging.
