Very beautiful torso by Francesca Zijlstra.
Crafted from a single piece of white marble, the artist uses the original shape as the starting point for her composition. The front is carved and shaped into a dynamic female torso. The back is left rough, creating a beautiful contrast.
It's important to note that this is the original stone. Bronze casts are often made on the stone created by the artist. This is therefore the original work.
The work is signed on the underside of the stone. It is in excellent condition.
The whole piece measures 39 x 17 x 10 cm. The stone base on which the sculpture is mounted measures 10 x 15 x 10 cm.
