Frans van Noorden – The Sower with Three Boys Atmospheric original illustration in ink and watercolor on paper. The eye-catcher is the sower's beautiful, bright blue shirt, which stands out powerfully against the warm earth tones. The blue recurs in the sky and the accents on the field, giving the composition a lively coherence. Large, softly painted clouds lend the scene light and space. Three boys look on as the farmer, wearing a pipe and clogs, sows the land. The colors have been preserved exceptionally well. Signed lower right. Noted 'M IX Nº 1' on the backing board, presumably referring to the Morgenrood reading book series.
