Hanneke trained at the Academy of Visual Arts Tilburg in 1990 and has a passion for figurative art. Her brush always tells stories that reflect her surroundings. About three years ago, she began daydreaming about colorful fairy tales with vibrant structures and hues that radiate harmony and joy. And so began her colorful adventure! Her work always has a narrative element, but her newest pieces have a twist: an abstract underlayer of cheerful patterns in acrylic paint. On this, she usually paints female figures, sometimes also lush interiors that blend into the layer of color underneath. Her goal? To create a mix of serenity, mystery, and richness, in story, forms, and texture alike.
