- Large mixed media (acrylic paint, gouache, and pastel) 60x90 cm, signed "Hans Vredegoor" and dated 2000 in the lower right corner, mounted in a passe-partout (WILL BE REMOVED UPON SHIPPING!). In very good condition.
- Hans Vredegoor (Deventer, 1953) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arnhem until 1977. He prefers to embark on wanderings within his inner world of experience. His paintings originate from a stain which he gradually allows to flow into an abstract concept, in which he lets light and dark effects radiate through undulating movements and organic forms into something recognizable. His paintings are a pleasant discovery for those seeking a certain poetry of chance and a light transparency in his painting. These graphic, pliable, and refined subjects also appear in his sculptures. The same technical mastery is evident in this three-dimensional work. The manipulation of tender colors with pastels and inks, interspersed with collage elements in his paintings, is replaced in his sculptures by an interplay of various materials that he links together in an ingenious manner. The abstraction is softened by round, sensual forms and gentle curves. His work seems to convey the essence of man and nature in a sensitive and graceful way.
