HENK DEKKER - TRIP TO "WOODS, HEATH AND DUNES" IN THE CENTRAL HOLLAND LANDSCAPE. (1897-1974) Dimensions: 40 x 30 cm. This is a nice trip by Henk Dekker.

Landscape, which is very striking, and it is a unique painting because he primarily painted in an Impressionist style, always depicting seascapes and beach scenes, with fishermen and ships. Oil on canvas, dimensions 40x30 cm, in a damaged frame (photo) measuring 52x42 cm, signed lower left. The canvas has a repaired hole, but fortunately this is not visible in the painting (photo). The painter Henk Dekker was born in 1897 in The Hague and lived there for most of his life. Before that, he drew inspiration along the Dutch coast, but he also traveled along the Mediterranean and the coasts of Brittany, Belgium, England, and Sweden.
Henk Dekker received advice from HJ van der Weele and further developed his skills independently. He lived and worked in The Hague, but also made many trips abroad, including to France and Morocco, in addition to England and Sweden. In the 1930s, his use of color changed, and his characteristic bluish-gray tone became dominant in his work. Dekker was a member of the Dutch Art Circle.
