Henk Eikenaar (born in Empel in 1945) attended the predecessor of the Academy of Visual Arts, where he won the Academy Prize in 1968. He subsequently became a teacher and, as an independent artist, primarily produced many paintings. In 1998, he created a painted art wall at the Schenker transport company on the Katsbogten industrial estate. In 1999, he created a concrete noise barrier between Friezenlaan and Baroniebaan. Titled "Muurscore," he incorporated 550 colored glass slides and a line of poetry referencing a medieval music manuscript from the Saint Martial Monastery in Limoges. The 3-meter-high and approximately 300-meter-long object was chosen in 2006, following a public appeal in the Brabants Dagblad, as the most beautiful design in Tilburg's history. Eikenaar has had a studio in Baarle-Nassau since 1999 and lives in Riel.
