Henk Meijer - Framed photo collage, ‘Callbox’, PTT telephone booth - 1979

A framed photo collage from 1979 by the Dutch photographer and artist Henk Meijer (born in Amsterdam, 1935).
This surreal composition centers a classic Dutch PTT telephone booth in the foreground. Through the glass windows of the booth, we look out onto a desolate environment strongly reminiscent of a junkyard or an area full of rubble and wrecks. During that period, Henk Meijer was known for his artistic documentary style, in which he often presented everyday urban or industrial elements in a raw and high-contrast guise.

- Provenance : The framed photo collage by Henk Meijer comes from an estate and was given as a gift at a wedding in 1979. The photo is signed and dated in the lower left corner and signed and numbered (no. 2 of 10) on the back by the photographer.
-The photo collage is framed in a simple metal frame with a glass plate.
-Dimensions: Frame, 45 x 55 x 2 cm. Sheet, 30½ x 40 cm. Photo, 25½ x 37½ cm.
-Condition: The photo collage is in reasonably good condition with some minor wear/stains. The frame has some wear. Please see the photos for your own impression. Ready to hang on the wall.

Henk Meijer (1935-), photographer, sculptor, collagist, graphic artist and painter.
Name variants: HJ Meijer / Henk Meyer.
In addition to his work as an artist, he was a photography/lithography teacher at De Grafische School, Amsterdam.
