Huibert Van Dorp was born in 1949 and was primarily inspired by the coming-of-age of the sixties. Historically, in the context of the Cold War, the sixties symbolized an extremely influential era that caused a great number of disruptions and called the order of everything into question. In Europe, The Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall would permanently mark people and beliefs, while in the US, events such as the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War would forever influence future generations.
