Jan Bévort (1917–1996): In the Netherlands and Belgium, this signature is known to be a widely used pseudonym of the famous Dutch painter Johannes Hubertus Hendrikus (Jan/John) Bévort. Bévort, trained at the Academie Artibus in Utrecht, painted his typically Dutch landscapes and cityscapes under his own name. However, when he painted romantic, sun-drenched Southern European coasts, Mediterranean vistas, and Italian scenes, he often signed them with Camprio.
