A beautiful small, signed work in good condition by the renowned artist Jan Heppener, friend and pupil of Weissenbruch. An inheritance from an uncle who collected art on a small scale. One problem with the frame (see photos) is that the original color of the wooden frame was apparently not in keeping with our uncle's taste, as he painted it off-white. However, this can be restored relatively easily, as the panel is easy to detach.
The painting was purchased at the time from antique dealer Gerard van Spaandonk in Leiden.

| To my untrained eye, the panel looks fine; no damage and the colors are still beautiful. However, the paint on part of the frame needs to be removed! | |
