Beautiful, colorful work by JAS (Johan Adriaan Smit). Screen print on paper, signed in pencil, dated ('99), titled and numbered. Number may differ from the photo. JAS (Hillegom 1945 - Antwerp 2002) JAS is a pseudonym for Johannes Adrianus Smit. Painter, graphic artist, sculptor, installation artist. Education: JAS was self-taught. JAS's abstract expressionist work is inspired, among other things, by the landscape of the southern part of Sweden, which turns yellow in the spring, and by German Expressionism. In 1983, JAS moved to Belgium, and in 1986, together with Henk Klinkhamer and Robert van Vliet, he founded the artists' group Sybarit.
