Jasper van der Wel – Qualia (2005)
Dimensions including frame: 100 × 130 cm Original retail price: € 1,900
Qualia from 2005 is a characteristic and intriguing work by Jasper van der Wel, in which a deeply weathered, almost archaeological image is constructed from earthy tones, lines, symbols, and textures. The combination of ochre, brown, black, and rusty red tones gives the work a weathered, monumental appearance. Striking features include the layering and the many signs and structures that only reveal themselves upon closer inspection.
Due to its generous size of 100 × 130 cm including frame, Qualia has a distinct presence in the interior. A remarkable work for lovers of contemporary art with a graphic, tactile, and somewhat mysterious appearance. Condition: see photos; the work is offered including the frame shown. Due to the size, collection only.
