A beautiful, characteristic modern-figurative portrait by the well-known Belgian artist Jef Wauters (1927-2013).
It is an expressive and high-quality screen print with a tactile ink layer and a fantastic color palette.
Special provenance: This work comes directly from the estate of the original owners of the formerly progressive Galerij Drieghe in Wetteren. In the 1950s and 1960s, Jef Wauters and Leo Drieghe collaborated very closely on various bibliophile art projects. This copy was created in their own printing studio/gallery at the time and is presumably a rare proof print.
