Offered for sale is an atmospheric landscape depicting a waterside scene with reeds, open water and a flock of flying waterfowl. The painting is distinguished by its expressive sky, confident brushwork and the characteristic light and mood associated with Dutch coastal and marsh landscapes. The painting is signed “Jo Schrijnder” and dated 1942 in the lower left corner. The visible impasto technique provides texture, depth and strong visual appeal.

Provenance
The painting has remained in continuous family ownership since 1944. According to family records and tradition, my grandfather was a miller and acquired the painting in 1944 in exchange for milled flour. The artwork has remained within the family ever since. As a result, the ownership history and provenance of the painting can be traced continuously over several generations.
Condition
The painting is in overall good condition considering its age. Typical signs of age are present, including light craquelure (fine age-related cracking in the paint layer), visible in the detailed photographs. In addition, there are several surface scratches: A larger superficial scratch measuring approximately 4.5 × 0.8 cm is located near the reeds. Two additional superficial scratches are visible above the flock of birds.
 These areas are clearly documented in separate detail photographs and have been taken into account in the pricing of the work. The canvas appears original and structurally stable. The decorative frame shows age-related wear, patina and minor losses consistent with its age and character.
