19th-century lithograph depicting Croy Castle in Aarle-Rixtel (North Brabant).

The print was designed by Johannes Franciscus Christ (1790–1845) (J.F. Christ del.) and published by C.A. Vieweg (excl.). The lithograph was made by M. Mourret (lith.).

Christ was a Nijmegen draftsman known for his accurate and atmospheric topographical representations of Dutch castles, country estates and cityscapes in the first half of the 19th century.

The painting depicts Croy Castle in a romantic landscape setting with a water feature in the foreground and small figures adding scale and vibrancy. The architecture is faithfully rendered yet slightly romanticized, typical of the Romantic topography around 1840.

Printed in a blue-gray shade on sturdy 19th-century paper.
