Expressive work in mixed media on paper by the Surinamese-Dutch artist John Lie A Fo, signed and dated 1996.
The composition depicts two powerful, distorted female figures executed in a vibrant, expressionist style. Two collage elements of printed Chinese paper are incorporated, visible beneath the paint layer, giving the work a layered and characteristic appearance. The handwritten title "Les Putains Chinoises" aligns with these collage elements. Signed lower right: Lie-A-Fo. Below the image, the handwritten title "Les Putains Chinoises." The name Warffemius appears on the page in the lower left, referring to the Dutch artist Piet Warffemius.
The back bears a gallery label from Link Kunstpromotie, The Hague, mentioning the artist, title and technique.
Condition: good. Very minor signs of age and use are visible on the underside of the paper, a slightly discolored spot, and a few small, barely visible creases (see last photo).
The work is offered in its current frame (without glass).
Due to the size of the artwork, collection is preferred. Shipping is possible upon consultation.
