The signature is very difficult to read, only clear in good lighting,
The artwork is professionally presented in a sleek, silver-colored frame with plain glass and suspended in a spacious, acid-free passe-partout. This protects the paper and enhances the cool tones in the composition.
Schimmer was known for his powerful, lyrical-abstract visual language in which he combined texture, layering, and organic and geometric forms.
This specific work, executed as a mixed media (gouache/oil paint) on thick paper or cardboard with frayed edges, is characterized by a palette of deep blue and gray tones, combined with contrasting white, impasto areas and expressive black contour lines.
