Kiny Copinga studied at the Academy of Art and Industry (AKI) in Enschede and developed a distinctive style that blends figuration and abstraction. Her work—mostly in bronze—often depicts human or animal figures, frequently playing with the distortion or omission of elements (such as the head or limbs), giving her sculptures a mysterious, timeless quality.
Her well-known public works include the monumental sculpture No Way Back (2004) in Schokland, which depicts the displaced fate of the Schokland population, and the twelve-metre-long relief 't Landbouwbeeld (1989) in Hardenberg, which evokes the agricultural history of the region.
