Aangeboden een fraai materie schilderij op doek van Leo Schepens (Oirschot 1953)
Leo Schepens vind zijn inspiratie in Frankrijk, waar hij vele Romaanse kerkjes bezoekt, die getekend zijn door de tand des tijds. Leo: "Ik heb een fascinatie voor tekens en symbolen vanwege hun archetypische karakter, zeg maar een soort oerbron". Leo mengt verschillende materialen zoals zand, kaolin, mergel, pigmentpoeder, bladgoud, acrylverf tot reliëfmatige vormen. Hierin plaatst hij oude ornamenten, en tekens en symbolen. Sluiers inkt, krassen en spatten geven het werk een tijdsluier en brengen het werk in een spannende harmonie. Het resultaat oogt verweerd en aangetast alsof het tot ons komt uit een ver verleden.
Leo Schepens is afgestudeerd aan de Gelderse Leergangen in Nijmegen als docent Tekenen, Schilderen, Handvaardigheid en Kunstgeschiedenis. Van 1984 tot 2007 was hij docent aan het Novalis College in Eindhoven. Vanaf 2007 is hij fulltime beeldend kunstenaar. Schepens schilderijen worden geëxposeerd in verschillende galeries zowel in binnen- en buitenland.
