Early, impressionistic work by the first Dutch cubist Lodewijk Schelfhout. East Indian ink drawing on paper, signed in ink lower left, dated (1908) and situated (Fontenay). All in very good condition. Provenance: Kunsthandel Hein Klaver, Baarn / Collection W. Hoogendijk.
In the book Lodewijk Schelfhout - Nederlands eerste kubist (LM Almering-Strik, 2018) a similar drawing is depicted on page 31. Identical dating and from the same private collection (W. Hoogendijk), see last two photos.
Dimensions: 50cm x 50cm (incl. frame), 32cm x 32cm (inside passe-partout)
