A rare and particularly expressive color lithograph by the Dutch artist Lon Buttsted.
This work – Serpens Lingua II – shows Buttsted at her best: layered structures, organic forms, and a powerful balance between movement and stillness. The lithograph is printed in a small edition of only 12 copies, of which this is number 5/12.
The handwritten title and signature underscore the authentic character of the work.
Features
Technique: Color lithography
Title: Serpens Lingua II
Artist: Lon Buttsted
Paper size: 73 × 56 cm
Edition: 5/12
Condition: Very good; fresh colors and sharp lines. Only some small dents against the paper at the margins. See the photos.
Description The work displays an intriguing combination of abstract forms, subtle color planes, and organic movements. The composition possesses an almost rhythmic energy, in which the title Serpens Lingua (Snake's Tongue) is beautifully reflected in the dynamics of the lines. A strong graphic work that incorporates both modernist and symbolic elements – ideal for collectors of Dutch prints and lovers of expressive abstraction.
