Atmospheric rural painting featuring a colorful rooster and several hens among the golden-yellow straw of a stable. To the left, a small wooden gate offers a view of a green landscape. A woven basket and a feeding bowl complete the scene. The work is executed in warm earth tones, with attention to the plumage and the play of light on the straw. In the lower left corner is a red signature, read as 'L. Stuyts'.
