Over de ontwerper:
Marcel Wanders is een Nederlands industrieel ontwerper. Hij is medeoprichter van het designlabel Moooi in Breda, hij is daar ook art director. Wanders heeft ook een eigen ontwerpstudio, waar hij ontwerpt voor verschillende internationale meubelmerken.
Wanders studeerde in Eindhoven, Arnhem, Maastricht en Hasselt, uiteindelijk studeerde hij cum laude af aan de kunstacademie in Arnhem. Zijn grote doorbraak beleefde hij met zijn Knotted Chair, een in samenwerking met de TU Delft ontworpen stoel van versterkt touw. Dit ontwerp is opgenomen in de collectie van het Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) in New York.
