When purchasing, a work of art can always be picked up in Diemen (near Amsterdam, a few minutes from the A10 ring road), but only by appointment. The period for collection is very generous; you can possibly pick up the work weeks or even months later and, if possible, combine it with a visit to (the area around) Amsterdam for other matters. In that case, you will of course save on shipping costs. The only exception to the above is that if the seller at any time decides to ship the work free of charge , this is binding, i.e. the work cannot be picked up in that case. This will only happen in exceptional cases and the buyer will not run any financial risk.
