Cheerful screen print by Marta Jędrysko (Poland, 1959).
In 1985, Jędrysko moved from Poland to the Netherlands. Since then, by her own account, she lives in her thoughts between these two countries. It took her five years of intensive work and searching to find a connection between Polish traditions, her education at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, and her own painterly identity. The rich painting tradition of the Netherlands served as an important source of inspiration in this process. This cultural interplay between her Polish background and her life and work in the Netherlands is clearly palpable in her oeuvre.
