Martine Jacobs - Three Nymphs

Three Nymphes – 2026 Martine Jacobs | Art print with hand watercolor coloring In Three Nymphes, Martine Jacobs brings together three female figures in a colorful, geometrically constructed composition. The nymphs are situated amidst undulating water features, water lilies, and stylized forms. Soft pastel colors, curved lines, and fragmented planes give the work a dreamy, almost timeless atmosphere. The work refers to the classical tradition of nymphs in art, reinterpreted by Jacobs with a contemporary visual language in which figuration, abstraction, and geometry meet. The print was hand-colored with watercolor in 2026. The result is a new interpretation in which traditional painting and digital imaging converge. Martine Jacobs has been working with traditional techniques since the 1980s and also developed a digital image practice starting in 1995. Her early digital and online work is extensively documented in her artist's archive. In October 2026, her website was included in the KB Web Collection of the Royal Library in The Hague, as part of the Dutch digital heritage.
