Olav Vorsel (1922–2007) was a Dutch artist who, after a career as a director at Van Ditmar publishing house, later in life devoted himself entirely to painting. From the age of 47, he developed an impressive and versatile oeuvre of over a thousand works. His style ranges from expressive, densely painted canvases to sleek geometric abstractions. Themes such as social engagement, existential questions, and inner experience are a common thread throughout his work. Vorsel drew inspiration from personal experiences, his childhood, and a strong analytical mind.
