An impressive and atmospheric maritime painting featuring a dramatic depiction of two historic sailing ships locked in a fierce sea battle. The artist has beautifully captured the moment of impact: turbulent waves, billowing sails, and plumes of smoke create a powerful and dynamic composition.
The brushstrokes are lively and expressive, with great attention to detail in both the ships and the movement of the water. This gives the work a strong visual impact and makes it a real eye-catcher.
The painting is signed in the lower right corner; however, the signature is not clearly legible, making it impossible to identify the maker with certainty.
The whole is set in a richly decorated, classically executed wooden frame that perfectly complements the maritime character of the work and creates a warm, authentic appearance.
From the estate of an art collector.
A beautiful and decorative piece for lovers of maritime art and historical depictions.
