A unique work!

The Archaeopteryx is a concept devised by Panamarenko himself that recurs in various art forms . His works embody the playful poetry of art and innovation.

Panamarenko himself said : "I had received a beautiful tree trunk from the city somewhere, because they wanted such a beautiful little wooden bird. And now he is jumping on it. A crazy chicken. It is a toy, and in fact I only make toys, because that is the real art: the poetry of a toy. What others call real art looks too much like art; that is the problem. For art is the only vehicle from which one should try to remain out of the sphere of influence at all times, not to do what power or those in power say: that is the essence of art. That is why I only love artists who have done that or still do, such as Joseph Beuys, Bruce Nauman, and Marcel Broodthaers.”

This special creation is expertly and stylishly presented in an exclusive handmade plexiglass showcase (Swiss hand-made case) , floating on a linen base, within a custom-made thick white (acid-free) passe-partout. The plexiglass showcase can be displayed either standing or hanging. Plexiglass showcase dimensions: approx. 50 x 40 cm - depth 4 cm

Panamarenko, born Henri Van Herwegen (1940–2019) in Antwerp, was a prominent Belgian artist and inventor. He gained international fame with his designs of imaginary vehicles such as airplanes, zeppelins, and flying saucers. His work combines art and technology and demonstrates his profound interest in aviation and mechanics.

According to ArtFacts, Panamarenko ranks among the top 1,000 artists worldwide and is in the top 100 in Belgium. Although he enjoys international prestige, he is not generally regarded as a blue-chip artist in the traditional sense, as his works do not consistently fetch the high auction prices characteristic of this category.
