Elshout, Paul
Someren, 1949 - Oosterhout, September 7, 2018
Paul Elshout was a Dutch sculptor, painter, and graphic artist.
Elshout trained at the Vrije Academie in The Hague. He lived in Oosterhout, where a number of his sculptures are located. He also created, among other works, *Bevrijding voor Geertruidenberg* (Liberation for Geertruidenberg), a monument commemorating the Second World War, at the initiative of the Junior Chamber of Oosterhout. The artwork was unveiled by Prince Bernhard on December 8, 1984.
Elshout also made the statuette that Frans Bauer received as a prize for his distinction as Brabander of the Year 2003.
