In good condition

Paula Evers was born in 1942 in Bergen, North Holland. Bergen is famous for its artists' colony – the Bergen School. Paula studied at the Van Gogh Academy in Amsterdam.

Paula is an intuitive painter. She works and processes from feeling. Nothing is predetermined. Everything depends on her emotions and mood at that moment. Her paintings are created gradually. Her hands possess all the technical skills necessary to make painting a meditation.

Paula's paintings are manifested through color. Especially in autumn, Paula is inspired by the numerous and diverse colors this season offers. This expresses her love for warm, earthy, and natural tones and her passionate use of their medium on canvas: the paint.

She paints both figuratively and abstractly. She describes her work as lyrical abstract. The term "lyrical" directly expresses an emotional state of being.

The figures Paula paints are featureless. Their contours are merely indications of shapes. Their abstract surroundings are an undefined space that frames them.

In her work, stories unfold between people, with which the viewer can identify. This makes her work accessible and has a strong appeal to almost every viewer.

For her abstract work, Paula often uses materials, giving them a striking surface. The paint she then applies accentuates the shapes of the materials, thereby guiding the final composition. Her paintings draw you into their space, allowing you to wander endlessly, discovering all sorts of things within.
