This screen print was designed for Pierre Alechinsky's exhibition "Constante Bleue" at the Baukunst Galerie in Cologne in 1996.

Hand-signed in pencil.

With a handwritten personal message from Alechinsky : "Pour Karl-Heinz Fleitmann, cordialement Alechinsky, 7.2.96".

The work is professionally and high-quality framed in a handmade wooden frame with Plexiglas®Optical HC (scratch and UV-resistant).
Framed size: approx. 62 × 48 cm.

The work combines hand-drawn graphic lines with bright cyan and black tones , which frame a central typographic plane containing exhibition information. Pierre Alechinsky ’s characteristic, flowing forms—including organic structures , eyes, and abstract stair forms—create a sense of movement and transformation. The use of turquoise and expressive ink and brushstrokes contrasts powerfully with the cream-colored background and the red-blue exhibition title, giving the work strong visual dynamics and graphic intensity .

Pierre Alechinsky (b. 1927, Brussels) is a Belgian painter and printmaker, known as a key member of the avant-garde COBRA movement. His expressive style combines European and Asian calligraphic traditions , often executed in ink and acrylic, into dynamic and poetic compositions. His work is characterized by a free brushstroke, vibrant energy, and a layered structure of form and symbolism.

Works by Pierre Alechinsky are held in leading museums such as the Centre Pompidou, Tate Modern, Museum of Modern Art, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris.

As a key figure within the COBRA movement, Alechinsky combines abstract and calligraphic elements with powerful colors into a unique and recognizable visual language that occupies an important position within post-war European art and the international art market.
