Rob Scholte - "Fishing Hunt" - Embroidery - 79 x 109 x 4 cm - Signed on reverse - 2005

A super-large "Embroidery" by Rob Scholte. Title: "De Slipjacht" (The Fox Hunt). Dimensions: 79 x 109 cm. The work dates from 2005. It is a reverse embroidery. Dimensions: 79 x 109 x 4 cm, including the standard white floating frame (with signs of wear). Scholte found the back more exciting. The reverse embroidery could be called a "Ready Made." It could also be a ZERO work. Rob Scholte plays with "copyright" in all his works. Scholte calls it a "reanimation" of the embroideries created with arduous labor by many generations of women and men. He wants to give the works the appreciation they deserve again. According to Scholte, the works come to life primarily on the reverse side, and he therefore decides to frame the works upside down and sign them. In 2016, De Fundatie in Zwolle filled the entire museum with these works. These works were also exhibited there and are listed in the catalogue. The fox hunt is pictured on page 91.
