Rob Scholte's "The Embroidery Show" at De Fundatie in Zwolle filled the entire museum with inverted embroidery in 2016.
This inverted embroidery from 2008 is actually a "Ready Made." You could call it a ZERO work. Rob Scholte plays with copyright in all his works. Scholte calls it a "reanimation" of the embroideries created with diligent labor by many generations of women and men. He wants to give the works the appreciation they deserve once again. According to Scholte, the works come to life primarily on the reverse side, and he therefore decides to frame the works upside down and sign them. Embroidery mounted upside down in the frame and signed and dated (2008) on the back by Rob Scholte with a marker. In very good condition. Provenance: Rob Scholte Museum.
Dimensions: 42 cm x 32 x 4 cm (incl. frame, shows minor damage in the upper right). This work was likely also exhibited during the “Embroidery Show” at Museum de Fundatie in Zwolle in 2016.
