SERGE VANDERCAM
Untitled
ETS/AQUATINT
Rare work in a small edition
Hand-signed and numbered in pencil Eprueve d'Artiste II/X by the artist.
Framed with a black wooden frame, artwork is behind glass.
This work is packaged with extreme care and shipped with track and trace.
Can also be picked up.
Vandercam joined Cobra in 1948 and gained fame from 1955 onwards with his informal artworks.
The style is typical of Vandercam's work,
that often contains elements of abstract expressionism and the Cobra movement, with a lyrical character.
The image shows a distorted, almost primitive depiction of what appears to be a head or figure, framed by expressive lines.
The finesse and subtlety of the aquatint lend a certain power to the silhouette that characterizes the oeuvres of Serge Vandercam.
