Sjouke Heins (1943–2020) – Water Polo Team, 1976 A remarkable and striking original painting by the Groningen artist Sjouke Heins. The work depicts the Dutch water polo team and is executed in oil paint on a large, geometrically shaped wooden panel. The distinctive design, with strong Cubist lines and a surprising perspective, gives the swimming pool an almost spatial and floating effect. Notable detail: on the reverse side is the original administrative label from the Service for the Dispersed Art of the State, The Hague, bearing, among other things, the artist's name, the title Water Polo Team, Groningen 1976, no. BK 20.078 and inv./cat. no. 760793. This gives the work an interesting Dutch institutional provenance. Technique: oil on panel Year: 1976 Dimensions: approx. 123 × 84 cm Artist: Sjouke Heins Title: Water polo team A characteristic work by Sjouke Heins with a remarkable subject and a highly recognizable, idiosyncratic composition.
