A beautiful and characteristic wooden artwork by the renowned Dutch sculptor Steef Roothaan (born in 1954). It concerns his famous sculpture 'Boat', created between 1986 and 1987. Steef Roothaan is known for his stylized and recognizable forms, in which everyday objects and animals acquire a monumental appearance. Early works of his, such as the larger sculpture 'Ship', are included in the collection of the Kröller-Müller Museum, among others. This handy, painted wooden object was released at the time in a limited and numbered edition of 160 copies. A sought-after object that still regularly appears at art auctions and is a beautiful addition for the lover of modern Dutch sculpture.
