Beautiful geometric relief by Suzanne Hartmans. Born in Brabant, educated in both Brabant and Groningen (Academie Minerva), but living and working in Beerta, Groningen for a long time.
Relief of painted balsa wood in a beautiful recessed frame, behind glass. Signed, titled, and dated (2010) in pencil on the back. Everything in very good condition.
Dimensions: 70cm x 70cm (incl. frame), 50cm x 50cm (relief)
This item is preferably picked up. Shipping by courier is possible and can be arranged by the buyer themselves with a courier of their choice (for example, with Swift Koeriers or Easy2send via the Kunstveiling website).
------------------------------
Whether it concerns a scientist or an artist, everyone stands on the shoulders of others, consciously or unconsciously, but adds something substantial to it themselves. Hartmans is very aware of this and can name those shoulders; including Sol LeWitt, Jan Schoonhoven, Giorgio Morandi, Ad Dekkers, Walter Leblanc, Lucio Fontana, Jesus Rafael Soto, and Klaus Staudt.
Hartmans' reliefs have a strong optical effect due to their three-dimensional nature. Once captivated, the viewer continually discovers new patterns in the work by viewing it from different angles.
Hartmans' work has been nominated for various Dutch and international prizes, such as the International André Evard Prize for Concrete and Constructive Art, Riegel Germany, and has been regularly exhibited in the Netherlands (PAN, Symposion Gorinchem) and abroad (Salon Realites Nouvelles, Paris).
Her work is included in various private collections in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and England.

After purchase, an artwork can always be collected, but by appointment, in Diemen (near Amsterdam, a few minutes from the A10 ring road). The collection period is very generous; you can optionally collect the work weeks or even months later and, if possible, combine it with a visit to (the area around) Amsterdam for other matters. In that case, you will, of course, save on shipping costs. The only exception to the above is that if the seller at any time decides to ship the work free of charge, this is binding, i.e., the work cannot be collected in that case. This will only happen in exceptional cases and the buyer will not bear any financial risk.
