A beautiful, highly dynamic artwork by the renowned Amsterdam painter and graphic artist Theo Beerendonk (1905–1979). This unique work was created in the 1950s and serves as a representative example of his post-war, abstract expressionist period.
In this vibrant composition, a fish takes center stage, constructed from a flowing interplay of lines and bright color accents.
The style shows strong similarities with the experimental innovations of the early Cobra years, in which traditional figuration was abandoned in favor of pure expression.
